Tide

Your calendars. A clearer day.

The beta

Schedule, Day, 3 days, Week, and Month views exist in development. Apple supports standalone Google/Microsoft calendar connections and existing accounts shared from Raven. Android has a device-calendar adapter and separate direct-provider connections.

Android direct-provider views are currently read-only with explicit refresh. The device adapter supports bounded edits but blocks recurring changes and lacks RSVP. Full gestures, recurrence, reminders, widgets, accessibility, and live provider acceptance remain unfinished. Public booking and complete .ics import are not beta promises.

Setup

  1. Get the pilot build. Public app ID: com.yaboku.tide. Development installs remain separate.
  2. On Apple: Settings → Calendar accounts → Connect Google or Connect Microsoft. Raven is not required.
  3. On Android: choose a configured direct connection, or Allow calendar access for device calendars. Google needs Play services; Microsoft needs the correct package/signing registration. Date navigation works without calendar permission.
  4. Review consent and select your calendars. Confirm important changes in the provider’s app. Do not rely on beta reminders alone.

Permissions explained

Standalone Google sign-in requests identity, calendar lists, event access, settings, and free/busy. Microsoft requests identity, ongoing access, User.Read, and Calendars.ReadWrite. Shared-calendar reading requires additional consent; shared editing also requires a suitable grant, verified identity, and provider permission.

Calendar-only consent does not grant mail access. Accounts shared from Raven may retain broader grants. Guest suggestions need existing contacts access; manual entry remains available.

Android READ_CALENDAR and WRITE_CALENDAR apply to system calendars, separately from direct-provider consent. Device accounts may sync changes themselves. Apple reminders need notification permission; background delivery is not guaranteed.

Your data

Tide keeps local events, connection metadata, and pending changes. Direct requests go to your chosen provider. Apple’s Disconnect Calendar stops that connection but retains events and queued changes.
